Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Anthony Hopkins as Odin, and Tom Hiddleston as the bad son Loki, seen here in the halls of Asgard. Directed by Kenneth Brannaugh, and set for a May 6th, 2011 release, Thor tells of “a powerful but arrogant warrior whose reckless actions reignite an ancient war. Thor is cast down to Earth and forced to live among humans as punishment. Once here, Thor learns what it takes to be a true hero when the most dangerous villain of his world sends the darkest forces of Asgard to invade Earth.” I guess I’m still on board with this, although less so now that I’ve seen Thor’s over-costuming, i.e. Chris Hemsworth’s lack of skin. What is wrong with these movie makers? First they CGI Green Lantern’s entire costume (removing the epic bulge that made comic queens swoon) and now their putting their beautiful, blond, Viking God in long sleeves and leather pants? I was seriously hoping for something more along the lines of THIS Thor. Also, I was kind of hoping that Anthony Hopkins was just going to make a quick Brando-like ten-minute appearance at the beginning of the movie to establish that we’re in Asgard etc, but it looks like the hambone’s going to try and make this the ODIN movie. GROWL. (via Marvel News)
