Why? Because we are witness history, my friends. On Monday, Billboard reported that Lil Nas X’s unstoppable megahit “Old Town Road,” featuring Billy Ray Cyrus, had officially tied the record for most weeks (16) at No. 1.
It is currently up there with 2017’s “Despacito” by Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee, and Justin Bieber, and 1995’s “One Sweet Day,” by Mariah Carey and Boys II Men.
Now, in an effort to make chart history again, Lil Nas X has released a K-Pop remix: “Seoul Town Road,” featuring RM, of the world’s largest boy band BTS, which dropped this morning. And I have a vague feeling that BTS has enough fans to keep this juggernaut afloat for AT LEAST another week. Or two. Or ten. Yeehaw.
