A wooden statue of Melania Trump was lit on fire near her hometown of Sevnica, Slovenia, on July 4th.
Brad Downey, a Berlin-based American artist, told Reuters he had the blackened and disfigured life-sized sculpture removed as soon as police informed him a day later of the vandalism.
“I want to know why they did it…”
Brad, I could give you a few hints as to why… and Twitter user Mike Dorsey has a temporary solution too, if you care.
The sculpture was carved by Ales “Maxi” Zupevc, an artist living in Sevnica who used a chainsaw and a tree to create it.
Trump has made preservation of statues in the a campaign priority, so he was no doubt devastated hearing this latest news. So far, no response from the Third Lady or the White House.
