So we’ve already established that the torture and murder of a lowly journalist isn’t worth getting THAT upset about, if it means losing out on a big payday. Now more and more people are following Trump’s lead and saying they’ll continue their working relationships with the Saudis. Case in point, WWE superstar Randy Orton, who believes its extremely important for the WWE to move forward with plans to host a major Pay-Per-View event in Saudi Arabia … despite calls from U.S. officials to hold off.
According to TMZ: The WWE is scheduled to have the “Crown Jewel” event in Riyadh on Nov. 2 (which they’ve reportedly been planning for months).
However… Several politicians have called for Vince McMahon to postpone the event until there are clear answers as to the Saudi role in former Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi‘s disappearance and probably murder.
Seems reasonable.
Not so fast, says Orton.
“I think we should go. I think the only way to help with change over there is to go and not to cancel the trip.”
“That’s the goal is to make things better everywhere and I think us NOT going doesn’t help. Going helps.”
The WWE says they are monitoring the situation, but, as of now, they plan to move forward and do the event.
