No one drops an F-bomb like Sigourney Weaver. In the new Jake Kasdan flick, The TV Set, Siggie plays a scary network programming executive who greenlights a pilot written by a nice Jewish boy (played by a nice bearded David Duchovny who is half-Jewish) married to a pregnant Justine Bateman. (I guess people like seeing her knocked up, because she also appeared “with child” in Men In Trees.) But anyway, back to Ms Weaver. When she says “fuck,” it is weirdly poetic. It doesn’t seem like a cuss, it seems like emotional shorthand. I mean Fuuuuuuuck, she is awesome. The movie is a hilarious and painful look at pilot season and how the road to a 9PM Monday night time slot on the fictional Panda network is littered with the corpses of integrity and good intentions. It is a world that World of Wonder knows well. (Trust me, it’s really accurate and I’m kind of pissed that WOW didn’t get Seth Green to host Slut Wars, as he does in the movie.) And if you miss it, well, as Sigourney would say, Fuck.
