Inside Edition conducted an undercover investigation into the sanitary bed making habits of nine hotel chains. They had a reporter check into the room for the night and used a stencil to invisibly mark the bed sheets with invisible blacklight spray. Even though they had the best sheets for new bed the reporter found problems.

The bed was staged to look like it had been slept in, always an indication to the housekeeping staff to change the sheets. Right? On the next day, a new reporter was sent in to check in for the same exact room and the UV light revealed the stenciling was still there. Gross!

The investigation shows the failed results of three New York City hotels. So the six others passed. Candlewood Suites, La Quinta, and Residence Inn Marriott did not. This aired last September so I would imagine that those hotels have cleaned up their act, so to speak. But you never know…
