Surviving Trump: The Art of Resistance’s grand opening commenced last night from 8-11PM in our store front gallery off Hollywood Boulevard right here in sunny Los Angeles, California and it made herstory, hunties! From the Kaplan Twins, to Raja, to Daphne Guiness, it was a star studded event that made a bold statement: that we reject the President Elect. When people weren’t purchasing “Soylent Gold” products or bidding on the silent auction to benefit the ACLU, they were taking selfies with the Go Go Boys in Trump masks and ‘The Emperor Has No Balls’ statue.
Here are some of the magical events that really do make the world go WOW:
1) The window displays were stunning.
From the Hollywood Boulevard perspective, it was as iconic to look at as you would imagine, chuck full of original Warholian products much like a super market, except this version is shopping til you drop in a high art fashion.
2) The “Soylent Gold” Products were genius.
From Trumpopoly money to “Soylent Gold” products (with 10% more NOTHING inside!), it was a dystopian grocery shopper’s wet dream!
“Soylent Gold” is a commentary inspired by the film Soylent Green (for all you millenials):
3) The Art Was Next-Level (and benefited the ACLU):
With over 53 artists participating, there was something socially conscious, smart, vile, and artful that everyone could take home with them through the silent auction.
4) The Go Go Boys In Trump Masks Are Everything You Didn’t Know You Needed
Honestly, watching Go Go boys in Trump masks made up for the entirety of the trash fire that was 2016.
See for yourself:
5) From Popstars To Pop Artists, The Celebs Were Fabulous
Everyone who’s anyone was in attendance!
