Martin Scorsese’s three-and-a-half-hour two-parter documentary, George Harrison: Living in the Material World, airing tonight and tomorrow on HBO looks to be a must-watcher. We’re especially fond of this bit of info we read recently in the LA Times concerning the first song the youngest Beatle ever wrote, “Don’t Bother Me” (on the band’s 1963 album With the Beatles). His widow Olivia says that George didn’t think it was particularly terrific, that he wrote it merely as an exercise. “If John and Paul could write a song, then anyone can,” he’d said.
