Isaiah Washington has said he made three errors in judgment regarding the “faggot” incident. The first was “believing the cast of Grey’s Anatomy were like family,” the second was “believing I had the freedom to express myself with family and that we could resolve our issues,” and third was “trusting ABC was going to take care of me.” And now he claims that the show fired the wrong guy; it should have been TR Knight, the target of his antigay slur. He says he used the word during a one-on-one disagreement with Patrick Dempsey, which he apologized for and after which he and Dempsey shook hands and went back to work. But he says Knight leapt at the opportunity to exploit the controversy in order to increase his salary and enhance his role. “I did everything I said I would do. … I wanted everyone to know I was remorseful,” said Washington, who’s considering a lawsuit. “I’m not angry. I’m disappointed.” (CNN)
