Growing up gay is not an easy thing, but growing up gay in Soviet Russia may be an impossible thing. Wes Hurley recounts his experiences growing up in Russia and then later coming to America when his mother became a mail order bride in his autobiographical documentary short, Little Potato. The short tells his story from both his and his mother’s perspectives.
Little Potato qualified for an Oscar last year and won over 20 awards including Jury Prize at SXSW and Audience Award at Outfest.
