Ever wonder what happens in the club after 4am (New York clubs that is!)? NYC’s infamous underground queer party My Chiffon Is Wet gives us a glimpse into their weekly soiree by way of über cool video “My Chiffon Is Wet vs Lady Gaga: Do What You Want”. The black & white reel, shot by director Santiago Felipe, focuses more on the theatrical members of the NYC collective MCW (who have co-opted Guy Hocquenghem’s gay mantra…”Our assholes are revolutionary…revolt sistas!) than on the partygoers. Felipe uses mostly close-up shots, which attempt to give the viewer a more direct relationship and connection to a subcultural group of queens who are use to using hair and make up to mask their disenfranchisement. Featured here…resident DJ and WOW blogger Paisley Dalton, showgirls Leo Gugu & Ruby Roo, and an awesome cameo by MCW regular…Tony Award winner Alan Cumming– “MCW is what I think people mean when they talk about the good old days of New York.
