The musical variety special, Making the Yuletide Gay: A Very Special Paul Lynde Christmas is now streaming on WOW Presents on YouTube!
Taped in front of a live studio audience in Los Angeles, this retro three-camera sitcom parody was written by Emmy-winner, comedian, and gay icon Bruce Vilanch and stars Michael Airington, Lady Bunny, Jackie Beat, Seth Rudetsky, and Jack Plotnick. It brings new life to the quintessentially campy TV Christmas specials from the ’60s, ’70s, and ’80s.
“I adored this project. It’s so rare that I get to be one of the younger cast members!” said Lady Bunny. “Bruce Vilanch has still got the comedy chops that gave the original 1976 Halloween special its cult status. Michael Airington as Paul Lynde kept us all in stitches, David Maiocco’s Liberace is not to be missed, and we get the return of Girls Will Be Girls‘ Evie Harris.
