Nora Burns‘ award-winning and long running one-woman show, David’s Friend, has been turned into a film by documentary duo P. David Ebersole and Todd Hughes.
The film tells the story of a crazy platonic love affair between a woman (the GREAT Nora Burns) and her gay best friend in 1980s New York City—a restless city during a reckless time. It’s a comic odyssey about cruising, disco, drag queens, strippers, sex, love, loss, and AIDS, told with music, videos, costumes, characters, tall tales and torrid truths.
Come out and watch the film, have a laugh and a cry, and show your support at the Cinema Diverse Drive-In (the LGBTQ Palm Springs Film Festival) on Saturday, September 19th at 7-11 p.m.
