The upcoming voguing competition series Legendary faced a huge online backlash after a press release announced key roles. Variety reported that Jameela Jamil “would serve as MC and judge” on the HBO Max show. Then legends of the ballroom scene started making their opinions known.
Legendary house mother Trace Lysette tweeted, “Lol.. I interviewed for this gig. As the mother of a house for nearly a decade it’s kind of mind blowing when ppl with no connection to our culture gets the gig.”
