A body was recovered Monday at Lake Piru in Southern California, the site where Glee actress Naya Rivera went missing last Wednesday while boating with her 4-year-old son.
Ventura County Sheriff Bill Ayub said,
“We are confident the body we found is that of Naya Rivera… there is no indication of foul play or that this was a suicide.”
According to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department, divers recovered the body this morning around 9:30 a.m.,
The 33-year-old rented a boat and went out on the lake with her son at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 8. The rental boat was supposed to be returned at 4 p.m and when Rivera didn’t return, employees went out to look and that’s when they found her son, alone in the boat.
Rivera’s Glee co-star Cory Monteith, died of a drug overdose seven years ago on this day.
The body is being taken to Ventura County Coroner’s Office, where it will be identified through dental records.
