Shades of Nicole Kidman.
During an interview with the BBC to promote his box office flop Gold, Matthew McConaughey was asked if Hollywood was being too hard on President Trump and if they should perhaps give him a break.
“They don’t have a choice now,” McConaughey answered. “He’s our president. It’s very dynamic and as divisive of a time and inauguration as we’ve had, at the same time, it’s time for us to embrace. Shake hands with this fact, be constructive with him over the next four years.”
The actor suggested that Americans should look for ways to be “constructive” even if they disagree with Trump.
“Even those who most strongly may disagree with his principles or things he’s said or done — which is another thing, we’ll see what he does compared to what he has said — no matter how much you disagreed along the way, it’s time to think how constructive can you be. Because he’s out president for the next four years, at least,” he said.
No, no, no, no.
Yuck, yuck, yuck.
As an ONTD commenter so eloquently put it:
Trump has disparaged and insulted nearly every group and community. He’s also done absolutely fucking nothing to unify the country and be a president for everyone. He’s a fascist dictator. Nobody owes him a goddamn thing. Ever. Imagine being so privileged that you see a man ban Muslims based on religion and skin color and say “well let’s work with him!!” Go fuck yourself, Matthew.
Yeah. What they said.
