Hilary is now a post-tropical cyclone and continues to move through the southwestern U.S.
According to the National Hurricane Center, it’s still bringing life-threatening flooding and winds.
Hilary’s winds are still 35 MPH with gusts. It’s located about 390 miles north of San Diego, heading north at 29 MPH.
- Schools have been closed
- many flights have been canceled
- Evacuation orders for some communities have been issued
Strong winds are expected to persist across parts of the western US today and food watches remain in effect for millions from Southern California to northern Idaho.
An earthquake — unrelated to the tropical storm — struck northwest of LA yesterday afternoon but no damage or injuries were reported.
