As usual, New York City is on the vanguard of nightlife. Just the other night, a vodka-soaked Paris Hilton was turned away at the door as she tried to join Orlando Bloom, Winona Ryder, and Josh Lucas at a party in the Rose Bar of Ian Schrager’s newly imagined Gramercy Park Hotel. The bouncer refused to let her in not because she was drunk, but because Schrager himself has proclaimed “the likes of Paris Hilton and her ilk are not welcome here.” It’s a good start but, as we’ve often bemoaned, we think Hilton is here to stay. More alarming, though, is that Schrager anticipates “the likes of” and “her ilk” showing up at the door. (Page Six)
