It’s not exactly a new song or a new video. It came out in January and has racked up an impressive 35,000,000 views, so I’m not exactly helping them to break into the big time. But it’s just started getting played on the radio here in LA, and it always sort of haunts me when I hear it. The video is about a modern man racing from the destruction of Mount Vesuvius in the year 79 AD. He’s trapped in a time loop, doomed to keep repeating the tragedy. Once he sees people with black eyes on the streets of Los Angeles, he realizes the ash from the volcano has caught up with him. His eyes turn black and he is perserved forever in time. Clever and stirring.
