Self-described “black transvestite acid punk rapper” Mykki Blanko has a new video, and it’s definitely worth checking out. There’s a little Sharon Needles, a little Jayne County, and a whole lot of Marilyn Manson going on here, and yet it all feels incredibly new and refreshing. The New York Times describes Mykki as “more avant-garde objet d’art than drag queen,” and says she performs “allusive rap with a radical-gay bent.” She says it’s “a mixture of riot grrrl and ghetto fabulousness.” Whatever it is, it’s pretty cool.
