Trump loves to divide US. He thinks it it helps him politically.
Trump praised the supporters who surrounded a Biden campaign us in an attempt to run the bus off the road at his rally in Pennsylvania, asking the audience,
“Did anyone see the pictures of the crazy bus surrounded by like hundreds of cars?! They’re all Trump flags all over the place… what a group!”
Of course, big cheers from the Nazi rally. Earlier, he praised supporters who went to Biden’s drive-in campaign events, saying most who showed up to honk their horns
The incident occurred Friday in swing state, Texas (my home state, sadly) as the Biden bus was headed to Austin from San Antonio. It was suddenly surrounded by a “Trump Train” group featuring cars and trucks with Trump flags and maniac drivers.
(One of these “Trump Trains” with 30+ cars and trucks drove past my place upstate just a few days ago, with horns honking screaming Trump’s name.)
Trumpers in Texas were screaming obscenities at the Biden bus whose passengers included US Rep. Lloyd Doggett and Democratic congressional candidate Wendy Davis.
They surrounded the bus, slowing their vehicles down to about 20 mph trying to stop the bus in the middle of the highway. Witnesses believe that the trucks were actually trying to run the bus off the road. Biden campaign staffers called 911 & local police escorted the bus to its next event.
The Biden campaign canceled events scheduled later in the day out of concern for the safety of supporters. This was no fun prank. The FBI is now investigating the matter. (I’ll bet license plate numbers were taken down and home visits are being made.)
Trump of course condemn the actions of these supporters, right?
Yeah, no. He applauded them. Twice. First, on Saturday evening, Trump shared on Twitter a video of the Biden bus surrounded by trucks and cars waving Trump flags,
“I LOVE TEXAS!”
The soundtrack repeats the prhrase,
“Welcome to the RED KINGDOM!”
Given this incident occurred the day before and received extensive media coverage, Trump knew EXACTLY what he was doing. rump said of the bus event,
“It’s like a hot thing…number one trending… but the tech companies won’t put that.”
But they did. Sunday morning Twitter’s top hashtag
This not not Bose well on Election Day for voter intimidation at the polls and violence if Trump happens to lose. Right now he is trailing Biden in polls across the country by dole digits, although it it much tighter in states like Texas, Arizona, Pennsylvania and Iowa.
Biden has made national unity one of the main points of his campaign repeating the mantra:
“I’m running as a proud Democrat, but I will govern as an American president. I’ll work as hard for those who don’t support me as for those who do.”
If you want four more years of a President who pits Americans against each other, then Trump is your guy.
Me, I like the candidate who says,
“I don’t see red states and blue states. What I see is American, United States.”
Isn’t the President supposed to be the president of all Americans, not just his supporters?
