Trump‘s Twitter tirades, retweeting lame excuses by supporters on FoxNews shows his struggle to control the narrative as he’s headed for a full House impeachment vote.

The momentum of Democrats in just a week has caught Trump off guard as they investigate his (alleged) abuse of power by trying to pressure Ukraine to dig for dirt on Joe Biden.
Americas are split almost down the middle on whether the Trump should be impeached.
A new CBS News poll (conducted by YouGov) shows 55% of Americans impeachment probe is warranted.
But Trump is digging is himself in (as Madonna would sing)
“deeper and deeper…”
Trump warned yesterday he was trying to find out the name of the whistleblower which could be added to charges brought by Democrats that he’s actively seeking to obstruct their investigation.
Blasting out a supporter’s comment on Fox News that he feared a “Civil-War like” fracture, Trump called for Adam Schiff to be investigated for treason. Trump said at the White House,
“The whistleblower reported a totally different statement. I made a call. The call was perfect. When the whistleblower reported it, he made it sound terrible.”

According to CNN reporting, the I-word pace has heated up even more…
- Rudy Giuliani was dragged directly and inevitably into the Democratic impeachment machine after he was ordered to produce documents relevant to Ukraine by three House committees.
- Secretary of State Mike Pompeo was on the now notorious July 25 call between Trump and Zelensky…. only matter of time before the secretary of state is called to testify.
- Trump personally urgedAustralia’s Prime Minister to help investigate the decisions that led the FBI to open its Russia inquiry involving his 2016 campaign. Trump leaned on Scott Morrison at the suggestion of Attorney General William Barr, who is being drawn further into Democratic sights as they probe the administration’s alleged abuse of power.
- GOP Senate Majority leader Mitch McConnell said on CNBC that he would have no choice but to convene a Senate trial to determine Trump’s fate if he was impeached by the House.
House committee chairmen Adam Schiff warned Giuliani in a letter,
“Your failure or refusal to comply with the subpoena, including at the direction or behest of the President or the White House, shall constitute evidence of obstruction of the House’s impeachment inquiry and may be used as an adverse inference against you and the President.”
Preet Bharara, former U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, who was fired by Trump, said
“Rudy Giuliani and others in support of the President have gone on television day after day after day saying as the thrust of their argument here that the whistleblower relies on hearsay information, second hand information, thereby begging people to do exactly what has been done here — to get direct information and direct evidence.”
A cold wind is blowing through Washington.
Winter is coming, Donald.

This tweet is itself an independent basis for impeachment – a sitting president threatening civil war if Congress exercises its constitutionally authorized power. https://t.co/JL9XzClGXf

But again, Paul Rudnick saves the day…
“If Trump is impeached there will be a civil war,” says Lindsey, “which I will enjoy because there will be statues of me, perhaps in a toga astride the brawny shoulders of strapping young soldiers, whom I salute with a cocktail while fanning myself with an issue of Mens Health” pic.twitter.com/rn7Etd2rDf
