Trump said Saturday he expects to be arrested in connection with the yearslong investigation into a hush money scheme involving adult porn star Stormy Daniels.
He of course called on his supporters to protest any such move. In a social media post, Trump, referring to himself, said the
leading Republican candidate and former president of the United States will be arrested on Tuesday of next week”
Adding supporters should,
Protest, take our nation back.”
He did not say what he expects to be arrested for. It’s something he IS guilty of. His former fixer Michael Cohen went to prison for his role in the hush money scheme. And AG William Barr prevented Trump from being charged while in office.
After Trump’s post, his team said that it had not received any notifications from prosecutors.
The probe is one of several legal woes Trump faces, including;
- a state-level criminal probe in Georgia over efforts to overturn the 2020 results
- a special counsel named by U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland is currently investigating Trump’s handling of classified government documents after leaving office
- plus his futile efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election, where he lost to Biden

The former president has been agitating for his team to get his base riled up and believes that an indictment would help him politically.
Elon Musk tweeted,
If this happens, Trump will be re-elected in a landslide victory.”
Trump is reportedly considering hiring a new TV-friendly lawyer, as he is well-known for hiring lawyers and advisers based on their TV presence and ability to defend him in the press.
Former VP Mike Pence (who was nearly killed by Trump’s mob on Jan. 6, btw) tweeted today,
Well, like many Americans, I’m just – I’m taken aback…
The former vice president claimed the Manhattan district attorney’s investigation
reeks of political prosecution.”
Yes, he will be prosecuted, but does he mean “political persecution”..?
Anyway, law enforcement discussions have been about how to navigate the potential indictment for a criminal charge by a New York county grand jury and the choreography around the possibility of an unprecedented arrest of a former POTUS.
Trump’s US Secret Service detail would deliver him to the Manhattan DA’s Office for fingerprinting and then taking mugshots in offices of the district attorney’s detective squad.
Trump would be brought directly to an arraignment before a judge where he would likely be released on his own recognizance.
OMG! What will you wear? What should we serve? Party prep is underway nationwide…
