The official schedule for Trump‘s upcoming UK visit has been released and it includes royal lunches, exhibitions, and London landmark tours –but no Meghan Markle.
Before joining the royal family, Markle was quite vocal about her her support for Hillary Clinton and her opposition to Trump. In a 2016 TV interview, Markle said on The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore,
“It’s really the moment I go; we film Suits in Toronto and I might just stay in Canada… Trump is divisive, think about female voters alone, right? I think it was in 2012, the Republican Party lost the female vote by 12 points; that is a huge number and with as misogynistic as Trump is, and so vocal about it…Trump has made it easy to see that you don’t really want that kind of world that he’s painting.”
During an interview with The Sun on Friday, Trump was confronted by the above comments made by Markle and responded,
“I didn’t know that she was nasty. I hope she is OK… I am sure she will go excellently. She will be very good.”
Well, Markle, The Duchess of Sussex, can just ignore that remark (the Palace has) and just use the excuse that she is enjoying her peace and privacy with her new son Archie, who is less than a month old.
Whether you like the name or not, nice timing, Archie.
