CNN-watching Americans got an injection of pure Trump last night and it was a shock to the system…
The 70-minute town-hall style interview was the first long look at the former POTUS (and front-runner for the GOP nomination) since he left the The White House.
When he wasn’t airing old grievances or attempting to rewrite history, he dodged questions from moderator Kaitlan Collins, saying he was “looking at” his options.
At one point when being asked about classified documents he took and refused to return, he said to Collins
Boy, you are a nasty person, I’ll tell you….”
Gotta give it her her for the white pantsuit and maintaining her composure. I couldn’t have helped saying,
Right back at you, buddy…”
He kept the name-calling Wednesday night,
- Democratic former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is “a crazy woman”
- Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, a potential 2024 GOP presidential primary rival, is “DeSantimonious”
- Former VP Mike Pence was “the human conveyor belt”
- The US Capitol Police officer who shot and killed Babbitt is a “thug”
Meanwhile Jan. 6 rioters, meanwhile, are
great people.”
He also insulted E. Jean Carroll, who he must now pay $5 million after losing his sexual assault case, calling her a “whack job”.
Trump’s “nasty” bravado was great for his hateful base, but NOT good if he ever hopes to get back independent women voters.
Of course there were lies, as part of his greatest hits he drug out, as subject of a criminal case in Fulton County, Georgia,
Yeah, I called questioning the election…
I said, ‘You owe me votes because the election was rigged.'”
It was the typical Trump shit show, just LIVE on CNN, which to many, legitimized this career criminal, but hey, closing your eyes doesn’t make the world disappear. And, depending on your goals, it WAS effective –in further polarizing the U.S. electorate.
A senior Trump campaign official said,

On the international politics front, the twice-impeached, sexual predator wouldn’t call his boyfriend Putin a “war criminal” and promised again to end the conflict on day one of term two.

Sure, Jan. Any negotiation Trump would “help” with would certainly benefit Russia, not Ukraine or Europe.
As fucked up as it was, it was pure Trump and Senior adviser Jason Miller was thrilled. In a text exchange with NBC News he wrote,
