For their book The Little Black Jacket: Chanel’s Classic Revisited, Karl Lagerfeld and Carine Roitfeld invited personalities (both male and female) from the worlds of music, fashion, art, sport and film “to style up and interpret the iconic jacket in their own way, each illustrating the true timelessness of this piece.” Here we have the men: Kanye West, Oliver Theyskens, Waris Ahluwalia, Theophilus London, Mark Vanderloo, Haider Ackerman, and Givenchy’s Richard Tisci all butching up their Chanel jackets with baseball caps and bare chests and hipster scarves. Then I threw in a picture of ME at the WOW Report blogging station in a pretty pink bouclé version, wearing it how God intended, with ropes of pearls and daytime jewels, thank you. And just so you know, I have been waiting for this to become a trend since the mid-’80s. Thank you Karl and Carine.
