Elliot Page posted a shirtless photo wearing his first pair of swimming trunks.
The Umbrella Academy star shared the photo poolside with the caption,
“trans bb’s first swim trunks #transjoy #transisbeautiful”
“completely transformed my life”.
Page’s shirtless pic is now a viral sensation with over 2.75 million likes on Instagram alone. Miley Cyrus commented,
Julianne Moore wished the actor a “happy summer” with an added flame and fans across the internet have reacted with admiration and support.
Writer Serena Daniari wrote,
“This is what we need to see more of and what the media rarely shows: trans joy and prosperity.”
Franklin Leonard, founder of The Black List, asked one of the many questions fans had about the photo – namely,
“How many crunches do I have to do before my abs look like that”.
One fan shared that it has been a joy to follow Page’s personal milestones since he came out as trans. They wrote:
“Elliot Page got top surgery AND he fucking got absolutely shredded and I have never felt so euphoric for a person I’ve never met before”.
@joesondow posted a reminder that all trans bodies are beautiful saying,
“If you’re a trans man with another body shape, you’re just as trans as he is, and just as much a man as any cis man.”
The replies to this tweet are so wholesome and accepting, I am pleasantly surprised!!! Maybe Twitter is starting to ban transphobes after all???????— Serena Daniari (@serenajazmine) May 24, 2021
I have questions about the @TheElliotPage photo, specifically 1. How many crunches do I have to do before my abs look like that? 2. Do I really have to do that many crunches? 3. Seriously, is there a shortcut that doesn’t involve that many crunches?@TheElliotPage, please advise— Franklin Leonard (@franklinleonard) May 25, 2021

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but Elliot Page is a movie star who can afford to get both top surgery and sixpack abs. He is not a standard to set. If you’re a trans man with another body shape, you’re just as trans as he is, and just as much a man as any cis man.— Joe Sondow (@JoeSondow) May 25, 2021
