“After living in Brooklyn for several years and hanging around many influential drag queens, I moved to back to my hometown of Miami. I found myself happier, but there was one thing missing – the queer scene. Although I consider myself a shy person and never thought I would be able to do drag, my roommate asked me one day if I wanted to perform at his party and I said ‘yes’. From then on, I continued to perform regularly at the same party and over time have developed into Queef Latina!Apart from doing drag, I have taken it upon myself to spread the word of queer acceptance in a traditionally conservative city like Miami. I am currently organizing a few events with my bio-king best friend Jorgie Maloof (Hairy Bradshaw), one being WIGWOOD– an annual queer festival much like Bushwig, but with more emphases on educational lectures, film screenings, queer bands and musicians, DJs, and of course drag queens and kings. And that’s just the beginning!”
