Suzy Q, the new documentary about ’70s rocker Suzy Quatro, has a new trailer that is here to remind us what an ass-kicking innovator she’s always been.
The documentary features interviews with legendary peers Joan Jett, Debbie Harry, Lita Ford, Cherie Currie, Tina Weymouth, Donita Sparks, Alice Cooper and KT Tunstall, along with members of Quatro’s family.
Director Liam Firmager says: “There is only one Suzi Quatro. She has sold 55 million records and still fills stadiums around the world. She was so influential but has yet to be recognised for her contribution to music.
“This film is an attempt to readdress that and introduce her to a new generation.”
I mostly remember Suzy as Leather Tuscadaro from Happy Days, who always struck me as a time traveler from the future – as she never bothered to look even remotely 1950s. It was very jarring. That HAIR.
Watch a few of her performances on the show below. Truly bizarre.
And why were Richie, Potsie, and Ralph Malph in her band? And who greenlit Joanie as a backup dancer? So many questions…
