Sal Mineo was only the PRETTIEST MAN WHO EVER LIVED, I don’t know who the hell cast this brick-faced hipster to play him, it’s an absolute TRAVESTY, I tell you. A TRAVESTY. I can’t get past it. And I can’t get past the fact that there are absolutely no indicators in this trailer that we are supposed to be in the 1960s, it looks like Silverlake, this morning. Weird, weird, weird. Sal deserves better. Sal was hero, a heartthrob, an icon, a radical, a revolutionary – my GOD he was openly gay in Hollywood 50 years ago! I’m going to see it, of course, but I suggest you read the source material: Michael Gregg Michaud’s EXCELLENT biography Sal Mineo: A Biography, seriously one of the most engrossing books I’ve read in YEARS. And Netflixx Who Killed Teddy Bear, Sal’s creepy 1965 erotic thriller where he plays a chronically masturbating dirty phone caller. FABULOUS.
