Tonight’s the night. The first episode of WOW’s docuseries Tori & Dean: Inn Love airs on Oxygen at 10:30PM. In the New York Times today, Virginia Heffernan reviews the show’s premiere, which centers around that yard sale the couple had not long ago.
The crux of this first episode is a tag sale that Tori, the daughter of Aaron Spelling, the famous television producer who died in June, finds she must hold to raise money. Although she says she inherited $800,000 from her father — the figure is given frankly on the show, along with life’s other would-be private details — the money is apparently already spent. Tori, even though she has a baby on the way, cannot stop buying expensive clothes. “It’s just I — I’m famous for my clothing,” she tells Dean tragically, as if reading from a Douglas Sirk script.
