Following the success of his “Titans of Media” theatrical trilogy – in which he did brilliantly channeled Anna Winour, Martha Stewart, and Andy Cohen – mega-talented cutie-patootie Ryan Raftery is back with a NEW bio-musical comedy The Obsession of Calvin Klein…
The Calvin Klein musical plays Los Angeles for two performances only. February 17 and 18, 8pm. Rockwell Table & Stage.
Inspired by the modern classic film, Black Swan, “The Obsession of Calvin Klein” explores the (somewhat fictionalized) madness that oftentimes goes hand-in-hand with the gift of creativity. Set to reworked versions of popular hits from the past four decades and interwoven with Tchaikovsky’s haunting Swan Lake.
Obsessed with a crushing paranoia that childhood friend and fellow mega-designer Ralph Lauren is intent on sabotage, Calvin Klein and henchwoman Donna Karan scheme to ensure the continued reign over his black and white empire.

“Raftery’s latest musical is a winning satirical comedy and fashion history lesson intertwined with Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake… Just like Klein’s ubiquitous underwear… Raftery’s clever, campy production has mass appeal.” Paper Magazine
