The captain of a Continental flight from Brussels, Belgium, to Newark, New Jersey, has died in midflight. Fortunately, an extra relief pilot was on board and took over the dead pilot’s duties. The relief pilot, along with a second pilot, have taken control of the plane, which is carrying 247 passengers, and upon landing (just about now) will get priority treatment from the tower at Newark. The unnamed deceased, a 21-year veteran of Continental, is said to have died from natural causes. He was 61. (via Newsday)
