From Blottr: “Participants of Uganda’s first ‘Pride’ celebrations have been praised worldwide after going ahead at the weekend. Following months of preparation, and despite arrests, Uganda’s gay community successfully concluded all its planned Pride events, including a beach parade, parties and a film festival. Uganda is infamous for it’s anti-LGBT stance. ‘Homosexual acts’ are criminal offences, and a law have even been sought to kill those for ‘aggravated homosexuality’ and long prison sentences facing anyone deemed to ‘promote homosexuality’.  Hilary Clinton joined the praise of those standing up for their rights in Uganda when she visited last week. During her stay she paid tribute to a coalition of human rights defenders for their LGBT advocacy. The bravery of those who defiantly participated in the face of arrest and criminal prosecution is remarkable, and has resonated throughout the LGBT community and worldwide.”
