ICYMI, Crazy Rich Asians was the set-up, but Bling Empire is the reality TV follow-up…
Dripping with diamonds, designer clothes, and DRAMA MAMA, Netflix’s new series trails a clique of cray rich Asians (and Asian Americans) in LA as they try to outdo each other with their extravagance, excessive spending, and over-the-top parties.
According to Town & Country‘s David Nash who spent time with the cast behind-the-scenes during filming, this series does NOT take itself(ie) too seriously,
“What makes Bling Empire special, both on TV and on its set, was that sense of humor. Whether we’re shopping for a Ducati with Chiu in anticipation of the zombie apocalypse, waiting patiently for aspiring model Kevin Kreider’s next striptease, or watching Shay dress up like an Air France stewardess on her first-class flight to Paris, it’s clear that—for these otherwise serious people—this reality show is something of a playground.”
