Tim Burton‘s live-action reimagining of the Disney classic Dumbo has a new trailer, out today. In it, Colin Farrell is circus ringleader Holt Farrier who, along with his children Milly and Joe, care for a newborn elephant who becomes the main attraction when they realize he can fly .
This, of course, is just the first of MANY live-action reimagining of Disney classics (that’s where the big bucks are now, I guess): In 2019 we’ll see the release of The Lion King and Aladdin in theaters, while Lady and the Tramp will debut exclusively on Disney’s upcoming streaming service, Disney+. Then there’s the live-action Mulan film and the sequel to Maleficent which are both scheduled to hit theaters in 2020.
Watch the trailer below.
Circus owner Max Medici (Danny DeVito) enlists former star Holt Farrier (Colin Farrell) and his children Milly (Nico Parker) and Joe (Finley Hobbins) to care for a newborn elephant whose oversized ears make him a laughingstock in an already struggling circus. But when they discover that Dumbo can fly, the circus makes an incredible comeback, attracting persuasive entrepreneur V.A. Vandevere (Michael Keaton), who recruits the peculiar pachyderm for his newest, larger-than-life entertainment venture, Dreamland. Dumbo soars to new heights alongside a charming and spectacular aerial artist, Colette Marchant (Eva Green), until Holt learns that beneath its shiny veneer, Dreamland is full of dark secrets.
Dumbo will be in theaters March 29.
