Mario Vazquez has hired Clay Aikin’s entertainment lawyer, Jess L Rosen, says realityblurred via foxnews411. Rosen is the lawyer who last year got Aikin out of his management contract with Simon Fuller’s 19 Entertainment. Rosen could do similar magic for Vazquez, who it turns out did some professional recording not long ago. The New Yorker is the only guest vocalist on an album of flamenco and R&B music by an Argentine guitarist going by the name of Cesar. The album, Worlds of Change, was released last May and – surprise – rereleased last week. (Some tracks from the album are available to download as mp3s here.) So because Vazquez sang on the album, he jeopardized his amateur status and rendered himself ineligible for American Idol fame and fortune, thus the dramatic exit before the shit hit the fans. Frankly, he’s better off for leaving; people who don’t even watch the show know who he is now. But we’re a tad disappointed that all the drama wasn’t to cover up a juicy trannie love triangle. But we can still hope. (Thanks, Quartknee)
