The Joker is pregnant in a new DC comic book…
The Joker’s confrontation with magical being Zatanna backfires, in the latest Joker: The Man Who Stopped Laughing.
Zatanna casts a backwards curse on him,
“On eno esle lliw reve evah ruoy ybab!”
[“No one else will ever have your baby!”]
And the Joker wakes up pregnant! Genius!
He then decides to get help from fellow supervillain, Doctor Phosphorus, who helps deliver the child. The Joker vomits a blob of mud that then turns into his own mini-me.
This side plot has predictably created outrage among conservatives about the “wokeness” of the twist.
But one tweet pointed out,

- In the Manga series One Operation Joker, the Joker has to raise a baby Batman.
- In 2022, a crowdfunded indie film, The People’s Joker, gave the supervillain a trans coming of age story.
The Joker’s next outing will be in Joker: Folie a Deux, starring Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn.
