Lenora Claire’s curatorial endeavor, the “Golden Gals Gone Wild” group show on Saturday night at WOW’s storefront gallery, was what we’d call wildly successful, with approximately 2,000 pARTy lovers (we haven’t looked at the clicker yet) passing through the doors (sometimes seemingly all at once), picking up great swaths of art: 37 risqué-verging-on-vulgar images of Bea, Betty, Rue, and Estelle in the $50-to-$6,000 range were hung and, as of this posting, 17 have been sold. Again, James St James, in a suit of gold cloth, manned the Ring My Bell live phone-and-video feed (posting tomorrow), chatting with folks who either couldn’t get in, or lived in the likes of Utah. LAist was there and has posted video footage. Thairin Smothers’ photos follow below, captions follow photos.
