This is not your father’s Aquaman by any stretch. And he’s certainly not the blond prettyboy that I fell in love with as a child. Jason Mamoa (best known as Game of Thrones‘ dreamy Khal Drogo) is Arthur Curry, the son of a lighthouse keeper and an underwater queen (Nicole Kidman) who washes ashore one night after a storm. As he grows up, he discovers he has unique abilities (fish just looooooove him) and that he is the heir to the lost kingdom of Atlantis. As Aquaman, he must step forward to lead his people and to be a hero to the world.
