“Here Jimmy,” my mother said. “Watch this nice movie about bunnies…”
Awww. Yes, please! I love bunnies. Little animated bunnies, living together. Hopping together. HOLY FUCK! TEARING EACH OTHER APART! MURDERING EACH OTHER! SO MUCH BLOOD! FIELDS OF BLOOD! WHY, MOM, WHYYYYYYYY?
Yes, it’s a remake of the the incredibly violent, but gorgeously nuanced story of a colony of rabbits fleeing their doomed warren, and struggling to find and defend a new home.
Think Lord of the Rings, but with bunnies instead of hobbits and no magic.
The new version stars James McAvoy (playing Hazel), John Bodega (as Bigwig), Gemma Chan, Gemma Arterton (Clover), Taron Egerton, Olivia Colman (Strawberry), Peter Capaldi, Sir Ben Kingsley (Wonderwort), Daniel Kaluuya, Rosamund Pike and Nicholas Hoult (the prophetic Fiver), among others.

The new miniseries airs in four parts on the BBC, and will presumably then land in one big block on Netflix for other markets. The Fantastic Mr. Fox animator Pete Dodd leads the CGI animation for the production.
