Yesterday morning, as news of the horrific shooting spree unfolded, virulently homophobic Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick tweeted a Bible quote inferring the victims got what they deserved. About seven hours later, after the tweet made its way across the internet and was quickly denounced, it was deleted. A spokesman for Patrick then claimed that it had been written days earlier and had been scheduled in advance, but was taken down to stop the hateful comments. (via JoeMyGod)
