The Black Israelites are back in the news after video footage of them taunting the Covington Catholic schoolboys surfaced.

The Black Israelites, as you may or may not know, frequently engage in a highly confrontational form of street ministry. The SPLC refers to them as an “extremist sector within the Hebrew Israelite movement whose adherents believe that Jews are devilish impostors and who openly condemn whites as evil personified, deserving only death or slavery.” They also have a history of sexist and anti-LGBTQ remarks. If you live in a big city, chances are you’ve come across them shouting down passers by.

Nick Sandmann, the boy in the MAGA hat at the center of Saturday’s controversy, argued that the Hebrew Israelites instigated the incident and that his classmates “wanted to drown out the hateful comments that were being shouted at us.”

Whether or not you believe they did the right thing prooooooooobably depends on your political leaning.

ANYWAY.

Drag legend Linda Simpson dug up an old 2004 video of herself, Miss Understood, and Lady Bunny taking the piss out of the hate group, dancing in front of the cameras, shouting them down, and making fun of THEIR outfits.
