When Tank Carter heard from his brother Tyrone (at right) that the Pittsburgh Steelers had a fine chance of playing in Super Bowl XL February 5, he decided not to show up for jail on January 6 to begin his six-month sentence in a Broward County lockup for driving with a revoked license. Naturally, he preferred to see his brother play, which Tyrone did, as it turned out, and successfully – the Steelers won over Seattle Seahawks 21 to 10. Ticket prices for the game soared into the thousands of dollars, but it’s likely no one paid with jail time. Except Tank. Because he skipped the January start date, the judge upped his sentence from six months to five years. “Even knowing what I know now, I would do it again,” Carter said. “It was the greatest game in my life.” The brothers are close.
