NYC scene queen Ladyfag brings back the ultimate gay Sunday night fête with new weekly Battle Hymn. If you’re looking for a flashback to the good ol’ days where homos, heteros, drag queens, club kids and every creature in between live in harmony on the dance floor, this is the place to see it all, in its semi-natural habitat. The 10,000 sq feet super club Flash Factory (formerly Shadow Nightclub) has been completely re-worked, taking its new inspiration from abandoned churches decor, with a sinners’ soundtrack of disco, classic house music and tech house. Hosts include Amada Lepore, Avi Vichner, Grandfather Hector Xtravaganza, MILK (RuPaul’s Drag Race), Kyle Farmery, Princess Magnifique, Sussi, Ryan Burke and more! Resident DJs Honey Dijon and The Carry Nation.
Ladyfag:
“Music is a unifying force. Stripped down of all gimmicks & armed with a next level sound system and lighting, Battle Hymn continues the long tradition in gay culture of going to ‘church’ on Sundays, the night begins with 9pm-midnight dedicated to disco & classic house, with the second half of the night going harder with a blend of house & tech house. Opening night was inaugurated with house legend Todd Terry making the crowd dance till the lights came up! The gospel according to the dance floor.. Battle Hymn.” (via Flaunt)
