After an extensive, well-publicized search for the Man of Steel, Supergirl producers have landed on a hairy, hipster Supes – Tyler Hoechlin.
The former Teen Wolf star will appear in the first two episodes of Supergirl Season 2, which now airs on The CW (Mondays at 8/7c, same as its CBS slot). So far, Kara’s iconic cousin has only been spotted in occasional, obstructed Season 1 glimpses. This will be the first time he is seen in all his hunky glory.

“[Executive producer] Greg [Berlanti] and I have wanted to work with Tyler for ages, so this worked out perfectly because Tyler is Superman,” Supergirl showrunner Andrew Kreisberg said in a statement. “We are so thrilled and humbled to add another amazing actor to the legacy of this iconic character.”

And then there’s poor General Hospital cutie Matt Cohen (below), who could be Clark Kent’s doppelgänger, and has been pushing the Twitter hashtag #MattCohenIsSuperman for a while now.
Here he is as the frequently shirtless doctor/priest Griffin Munro on GH. We can only look at these and sigh at what could have been…
