British style icon (and WOW Best Dressed) Daniel Lismore was profiled in the Sunday Times of London, where he breaks down his eclectic look: “Today I’m in one of many hats given to me by Boy George, a hijab to cover my hair, a Sorapol necklace and bracelet, a Vivienne Westwood T-shirt and a white jubbah. My make-up is Illamasqua. It was after I met Issy Blow that my outfits got more eccentric: she taught me how to not give a damn about other people’s opinions. My style went a bit pop art, then I started to wear surreal objects: trash and recycled things, with a lot of spray paint. Now, it’s more elegant — statuesque meets couture. Sometimes I channel my favourite historical character, the Chevalier d’Eon. I’m inspired by tribes. I lived with the Masai for a while and I have a few pieces of jewellery from them, and a woven gold kanga. I dress to create a difference. The best compliment I had was being called ‘genius’ by Stephen Fry.” Photo by Rich Pushinsky. Closeup after the jump.
