This September, accessory-mad design icon Iris Apfel will make her leap into the ultra-trendy world of emjojis, introducing an emoji keyboard that comes in conjunction with her upcoming mod-inspired clothing and accessories line, designed in partnership with Macy’s I.N.C. No word yet what the emojis will look like, but I’m sure they’ll be BEYOND FABULOUS, darling.
Of course, the 94-year-year-old textile importer/designer has long been considered one of the most fabulous fashion icons EVER. Since being the subject of a Metropolitan Museum of Art exhibition in 2004, she has been profiled in every major fashion magazine in the world; featured in Italian Vogue, (2007, photographed by Bruce Weber); appeared in advertising campaigns for Kate Spade, Coach, and Alexis Bittar; collaborated on a make-up collection for Mac Cosmetics; created an accessory line for The Shopping Network; eyewear collection for Eyebobs; collaborated with wearables brand WiseWear, producing a small collection of tech-integrated jewellery, serves as visiting professor at the University of Texas; her Park Avenue home was featured in Architectural Digest; and was the subject of an Albert Maysle documentary, Iris (2015) that explored “the meticulous way she curates the visual space around her.”
