We’ve just learned that both Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and Colin Egglesfield have been axed from the cast of the CW’s dire Melrose Place, an old show reconstituted with all the pulp removed. Fans of the two exiting “actors” will see the last of them in January. It’s promised the murder mystery will be solved by the end of this year, and producers Tod Slavin and Darren Swimmer have added five new – and corrective – episodes to the season to get the train off the track to nowhere and beef up flagging ratings. They think the addition of Heather Locklear to the cast is key to the right direction. (via IMDb)
