Musician, fashion icon and now fashion designer, Pharrell Williams just debuted his first Louis Vuitton’s Men’s Collection in Paris…
The show was broadcast live from today, June 20th at 9:30 PM.
Pierre Alexandre M’Pele, editor of GQ France, has expressed the significance of the moment,
We can expect an exciting and refreshing take on men’s fashion.”
The show was presented on a bridge over the Seine with a full orchestra and gospel choir, live-streamed for the world with global superstars Beyoncé, JayZ, a pregnant Rhianna & A$AP Rocky, Kim Kardashian, Jared Leto, Lenny Kravitz, Naomi Campbell and brand ambassador Zendaya with ex-stylist Law Roach by her side.
How do you do it any bigger than that? As someone commented on YouTube,
Started like a runway show, ended like the Grammy’s.”
But the show was not all hype, as you can see, the clothes did NOT disappoint with classic shapes, new silhouettes, bold graphics, lots of monogrammed LV bags in primary colors and plenty of bling.
Embroidered designs from the works of American artist Henry Taylor was used on tailoring, denim and accessories and a logo combining the classic “LV” monogram with the word “lovers.” the show notes read,
LVERS is a state of mind: warmth, wellbeing, and welcome-ness”
You just know this first collection is going to be collectible right out of the gate, not to mention EXPENSIVE!
